>For all those naysayers using TV ratings as a potential negative for Northwestern’s bowl placement, the nation has spoken. Monday’s Alamo Bowl pulled a 4.6 rating (more than 7 million viewers) making it the 10th most watched bowl game of alltime on ESPN. The Alamo Bowl owns three of the top ten spots with the Iowa-Texas 2006 game the highest rated ESPN bowl game ever with a 6.0 rating (8.8 million viewers). Those hypothesizing about the power of the Monday Night Football slot are now armed with credible data.
