Dropped Out: Oklahoma State (#20), Colorado (#25).
So LTP's week 2 ballot is officially in, and still no Wildcat representation from this voter. I don't have an axe to grind, I'm just trying to be objective. There is no one on this list that I believe the Cats, at this point, would be favored to beat based on the limited game action we've seen.
Notes:
The Mountaineers made the biggest plummet this week, while East Carolina enjoyed the largest jump for the obvious - you beat two top 20 teams you're in -rationale. I find it interesting that the Illini fell out of the coaches poll - I'm getting more impressed with them each week, despite their suspect defense. Penn State send out a message, while the obvious Big Ten downer of the week was Ohio's domination for 3 quarters of our great BCS hope -hence the freefall from the top spot. Keep an eye on Purdue in a huge game for the Boilers/Big Ten in their match-up with Oregon. A win and they're in in my books.
So what will it take for the Cats to get my vote? A start-to-finish statement game this weekend against a very reputable SIU program. It is not about the final score (see 30-10 Syracuse win), but rather the way they play throughout. Go Cats!
