This vintage calendar from Asgard Press is just a sampling of creative NU gifts for this year!Borrowing from a prevalent wireless phone company's marketing campaign, Happy NorthChristHanWestMasNukahErn! Heading into the second to last weekend before Christmas, I know it is relatively EARLY for some of you, but I figured I'd give you some Northwestern related gift ideas.
The "Money Is Not An Option" Gift:
OK, so then here you go - Northwestern Football Fantasy Camp. No, this does not involve an online league, this is old school, strap on the shoulder pads and actually get on the field in a Northwestern uniform. No joke, this inaugural event is July 9-13 at Northwestern and includes four night stay at the Orrington in Evanston, all meals and of course, the cool gear - home and away jerseys, game pants, helmet etc...You'll be coached by Fitz and his staff, but the event is only open to 60 players. The cost? $3,990. Plus the four days of intense time allegedly away from work! For more info: http://www.nufootballfantasycamp.com/
The "Gift That Keeps On Giving" Gift:
Season tickets baby. Time to hook a friend, loved one or that colleague/boss into helping fill up Ryan Field. A set of 2 will put you back $400-$500 this year, butg if you amoritize the dollar amount over the course of the time spent, it is quite the deal (I use this tactic often in negotiating with my better half). Call 1-847-491-CATS to place your order. Hurry, there are only about 20,000 left!
The "I'm Cheap, But It Is The Thought That Counts" Gift:
This is very cool, and very inexpensive. For about $20, you can get a Northwestern vintage (see image above!) calendar which includes 12 unique reproductions of old NU gameday programs. The feature I really like is that they perforate them so they can be easily framed after you flip the calendar counting down the days to NU kickoff. LTP Note: the proprietors contacted me about this and have offered LTP fans a 10% discount (LTP membership has its privileges!). Additionally, they have offered LTP a commission on each sale (15%) of which I will be donating 100% to a Northwestern football cause of note that you will help me decide upon in an upcoming poll. Click here for the discount and simply order and it will transact the discount automatically.

The "LTP Reader Recommendation" Gift
Thanks to a loyal reader, there is yet a last minute add to the NU gift giving bonanza - replica old school helmets. For less than $200 a conversation piece for the office. My personal fav is circa 1979. Check it out.
So there you go, four great gift ideas for all sorts of budget ranges!
Other CFB News of Relevance:
Keep an eye on the incredibly smart Northern Illinois hire, Jerry Kill, a proven winner as the head coach at Southern Illinois, where he went 56-32 in 7 seasons. You likely know SIU is playing at Northwestern this season and LTP fears the worst, as the Salukis made it to the I-AA Final Four this season. Perhaps the coaching change will dilute the I-AA power in time for our game! As noted here before there are several Fitz colleagues on the SIU staff, so it will be interesting to see whether or not they all migrate north. Don't be surprised to see NIU on our schedule regularly in year's to come...

That is a PHENOMENAL calendar. I'd love to invest in buying the originals of some of those old posters...but I suppose the calendar will have to do.
Let's hope they make them available as posters! Hoping to see more...fascinating stuff.
The collection of football helmets up on eBay from On Field Productions would be at the top of my list.
I've seen that calendar before. I'll pick it up one of these days.
